General Description of KF105S Karl Fischer Thermoprep

The principle of the Karl Fischer oven is based on the heated headspace sampling method. The sample is placed in a sealed Karl Fischer bottle (usually a glass bottle with a screw cap or crimp cap) and heated above the boiling point of water. Then, with the aid of an external dry carrier gas (air or nitrogen), the evaporated water vapor from the Karl Fischer bottle is transported to the Karl Fischer titration solution. Since high-boiling-point substances are difficult to volatilize, this method avoids interference from insoluble substances in the Karl Fischer reaction.
